New Job for Viagra
UCLA researchers say Viagra may help improve exercise capacity in patients with pulmonary fibrosis, or scarring in the lungs.
Many patients with the disease also have pulmonary hypertension, which causes breathing difficulties because it constricts arteries to the lungs.
Viagra may help open the blood vessels and allow more blood flow.
In the study, participants improved their walking distance by 20-percent, and the drug was well-tolerated.
